Wedding Party Comedy Rings Bells Everyone has a story about what it is like to a member of a wedding party. Now, as we swing into wedding season, J.M. Drama presents Five Women Wearing the Same Dress. It's a comedy that examines the intricacies of friendship and kinship as five reluctant bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom -- each with her own reason to avoid the proceedings below. The show runs at The Registry Theatre, 122 Frederick St., Kitchener, May 23, 24 and 25 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for students, seniors and J.M. Drama members, and $5 through eyeGO to the Arts. Tickets can be purchased through The Centre in the Square box office, or by calling 578 1570 or 1 800 265 8977. The play, written by Alan Ball, demonstrates how, though five women may be identically clad in bright, shiny fabric, there is much more to them than meets the eye. They still have their own distinct personalities, strengths, fears and histories. Each of their stories is revealed through scenes that move subtly from hilarious to poignant. Five Women Wearing the Same Dress is directed by veteran director Allan Hoch. "I laughed out loud the first time I read the script," recalls Hoch. "Five, very different women are stuck in a wedding party and through a series of both hilarious and touching moments, end up finding friendship." Producer Don Bourgeois says "This show offers something for everyone. Each one of us can identify on some level with the characters. It offers brilliant entertainment." -30- For more information, to arrange an interview with Director Allan Hoch, or to meet the cast, contact Liz Dietrich 519-742-1541. For more information on J.M.
