J.M. Drama Programs & Services
The J.M. Drama Performing Arts Education Sponsorship Fund provides grants to enhance performing arts education in schools across Waterloo Region. Last year, we sent out an application package in the fall which many schools benefited from. We have restructured our application process. While the next formal round will not take place until May 2000, up to $2500 is available in the interim. In the future, a formal application process will take place every year in May and November.

J.M. Drama established the fund in 1997 to promote participation in the performing arts. Examples of eligible projects include bringing in performing artists or others to provide training in the arts and sending students for similar training. An individual project may receive up to $500. Multiple school projects are eligible for larger grants. Preference is given to projects that 1) have students as active participants in the performing arts rather than in a passive role; or 2) take place in Waterloo Region; or 3) have a connection to Waterloo Region (ie. an outside drama instructor who lived or studied locally).

Teachers, parents and schools interested in making an application or receiving more information can call 741-0642 or may email sponsorship @ jmdrama.org.
